In celebration of the International Day of Older Persons, observed annually on October 1st in the United Arab Emirates, Beit Al Khair Society announced its total spending on supporting senior citizens and residents — a group that remains at the forefront of its charitable priorities. From the beginning of 2025 until the end of September, the Society allocated AED 9,126,453 to care for the elderly, enhance their well-being, and meet their essential and health-related needs. A total of 2,111 senior citizens and residents benefited from this support.

This assistance was distributed as follows:

Support for Senior Citizens (Emirati Nationals): AED 4,193,079

  • AED 1,418,879 in emergency aid, targeting 250 senior citizens facing humanitarian and medical hardships, aimed at relieving their distress and improving their quality of life.

  • AED 2,240,600 in direct cash assistance to support the living expenses of 409 senior citizens, helping them maintain a dignified standard of living.

  • AED 498,600 in food aid provided to 415 senior citizens, intended to ensure their nutritional needs were met and improve their daily well-being.

Support for Senior Residents (Non-Nationals): AED 4,933,374

  • AED 3,845,374 in emergency aid for 345 senior residents facing similar humanitarian and medical challenges.

  • AED 886,000 in monthly cash assistance to support 369 eligible senior residents, helping them manage their basic needs.

  • AED 202,000 in food support provided to 310 senior residents, aimed at improving their standard of living and food security.

This dedicated support is in addition to the care provided to senior citizens living within low-income families, who benefit from the Society’s broader family assistance programs. From January to September 2025, these families received AED 7,445,000 in monthly financial support and AED 4,169,692 in food aid. They also benefit from additional seasonal assistance during Ramadan and the two Eids, as part of Beit Al Khair’s mission to spread joy and dignity among the most deserving members of society.
