Beit Al Khair Society affirmed that its humanitarian initiatives go beyond providing financial and in-kind assistance to spreading compassion, strengthening social solidarity and cohesion, and instilling the values of giving and humanitarian responsibility in new generations. The Society noted that keeping pace with the national agenda to enhance the happiness of beneficiaries and strengthen social solidarity and cohesion is one of its most important strategic objectives.
Commenting on the “Message of Mercy” addressed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, to philanthropists and pioneers of humanitarian work as part of his book “Messages”, Abdeen Taher Al Awadhi, Director General of Beit Al Khair Society, said that His Highness’s message embodies the essence of charitable work. It affirms that mercy is the foundation of society’s cohesion and stability, and that the responsibility of humanitarian institutions is not limited to helping those in need, but also extends to consolidating noble values and spreading a culture of compassion among members of society.
He added: “We draw inspiration from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, may God protect him, and his humanitarian vision that makes mercy a way of life and giving a social responsibility. At Beit Al Khair Society, we strive to follow this blessed approach through initiatives that turn the values of goodness into practical actions and a deep-rooted culture passed down through generations.”
He explained that the Society’s annual Ramadan campaigns embody the values of mercy and solidarity by mobilising the efforts of benefactors and volunteers to support underprivileged families and the most vulnerable groups, while its distinctive humanitarian projects reflect the concept of sustainable giving. Alongside charitable endowments (Waqf) and traditional charity programmes, the Society runs innovative projects that strengthen this aspect, such as the “Malabis” (Clothes) project, which recycles old and used clothing and directs the proceeds to support charitable projects. The Society also visits schools to introduce the project and collect students’ donations, encouraging their participation in charitable work and instilling in them the values of giving and social responsibility.
Al Awadhi pointed out that Beit Al Khair’s care for orphans goes beyond material support, through organising activities, courses and trips that develop their skills, boost their self-confidence, enable them to integrate into society, and instil in them the values of communication, cooperation and belonging. These programmes reflect the Society’s commitment to instilling compassion in young people and teaching them the importance of empathy towards others and participation in humanitarian initiatives.
He affirmed that the seasonal projects and campaigns Beit Al Khair carries out throughout the year are an extension of its mission to spread compassion and enhance community participation, stressing that instilling these values is a shared responsibility that requires the concerted efforts of institutions, families and schools.
Al Awadhi concluded his statement by saying: “The greatest legacy we leave to future generations is the human values and deep-rooted culture of giving and compassion that we instil in them. With the help of Almighty God, Beit Al Khair Society will continue to fulfil its mission, inspired by the directives of our wise leadership, and developing its initiatives to enhance the happiness of beneficiaries and consolidate mercy, solidarity and social cohesion.”
