In the presence of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), the foundation announced the allocation of AED 150 million to support charitable and humanitarian entities, bodies and organisations in the UAE. The funding aims to strengthen their capacity to carry out their noble humanitarian roles and to launch and implement programmes and projects at local, regional and international levels, as part of MBRGI’s ongoing efforts to contribute to the sustainability of Emirati giving and consolidate the UAE’s position as a global capital of humanitarian work.

The new allocation was announced through 11 partnership agreements signed by MBRGI with Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, launched by the UAE in 2023 to support the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip; Tarahum Charity Foundation; Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment; Emirates Health Services; UAE Food Bank; Beit Al Khair Society; Dar Al Ber Society; Al Jalila Foundation; Fujairah Charity Association; Noor Dubai Foundation; and the Digital School.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said: “Guided by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, we at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives continue to provide all the elements needed to develop charitable and humanitarian work in the UAE.”

His Highness noted that the new support provided by MBRGI to charitable and humanitarian entities in the UAE continues its influential role in the country’s humanitarian landscape since its launch in 2015, and reflects its enduring commitment to local community needs.

In 2025, the total spending of MBRGI, the largest organisation of its kind in the region in charitable, humanitarian, relief and community work, exceeded AED 2.3 billion, making a positive impact on the lives of around 165 million beneficiaries in 122 countries worldwide. This was achieved across five main pillars: humanitarian aid and relief; healthcare and disease control; spreading education and knowledge; innovation for the future and entrepreneurship; and community empowerment.

MBRGI was launched in 2015 as an umbrella organisation for the various initiatives and institutions that His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has sponsored over more than twenty years.

More than 30 initiatives and institutions operate under the MBRGI umbrella, implementing hundreds of projects, programmes and campaigns.

The foundation aims to promote a culture of hope and effectively address the most pressing humanitarian, developmental and social challenges facing many regions of the world, with a focus on less fortunate communities. It also invests in human capital as the most vital resource by empowering talent, refining skills and expertise, and building educated, trained and qualified cadres in all areas of development, so that they can lead the development of their own countries.

It also seeks to improve education in marginalised and underprivileged communities, combat poverty, diseases and epidemics, and promote the values of tolerance and coexistence among peoples and communities.
